customizable length – up to 160 feet – connects to AKCP securityProbe 5E – locates water leaks at specific locations – connects to AKCP sensorProbe

Bangkok, Thailand – March 30, 2010 – AKCP Inc., announces the launch of the new locateWater Sensor. This new sensor features a customizable length rope that will detect water contact at a specific location along its entire length. Ideal for lying in large areas like basements, under raised floors in data centers, roof space (raised ceilings) or anywhere where any ingress of water would be catastrophic. This sensor unit will be vital to any business that is concerned with disaster prevention plans.

New locateWater Sensor

  • Detects the presence of water if a specific section of the rope becomes wet.
  • Customizable length enabling the rope to have numerous specific ‘sensing’ locations at one meter or one foot intervals
  • Up to 160 feet of location sensing on a single rope are possible.
  • Connects to AKCP securityProbe and sensorProbe RJ-45 sensor ports

The locateWater Sensor can be plugged into the AKCP sensorProbe or securityProbe 5E intelligent sensor ports enabling the unit to measure water ingress in the specific location along the sensor rope. This can be used to trigger alerts like e-mail, SMS, phone calls and SNMP traps. The sensor has its own SNMP OID so that the data can be collected over the network using any Network Management System.
