detects various fuel type leaks – connects to AKCP securityProbe 5E – customizable length – up to 165 feet – connects to AKCP sensorProbe

Bangkok, Thailand – August 24, 2010 – AKCP Inc., announces the launch of the new ropeFuel Sensor. This new sensor features a customizable length rope that will detect various fuel types when they make contact at any location along its entire length. Ideal for lying in areas close to generator fuel tanks, fuel storage areas, or fuel transfer stations, for example, where leaking fuel could have catastrophic consequences. This sensor unit will be vital to any business that is concerned with disaster prevention plans. This sensing rope detects the presence of liquid hydrocarbon fuels like Gasoline, Diesel fuel, Jet fuel or Xylene, at any point along its length.

New ropeFuel Sensor

Detects the specific location of fuel if it comes into contact with any section of the rope.

Customizable length with numerous specific ‘sensing’ locations at one meter or one foot intervals.

Up to 165 feet of location sensing on a single rope are possible.

Connects to AKCP securityProbe and sensorProbe RJ-45 sensor ports.

Both units will auto-detect the presence of the ropeFuel Sensor.

Sensor module LED will activate when liquid is detected by the sensor.

Sensor will report a critical status if the cable breaks, is cut, or unplugged.

The ropeFuel Sensor can be plugged into the AKCP sensorProbe or securityProbe 5E intelligent sensor ports enabling the unit to measure fuel leaks in a specific location along the sensor rope.

New AKCP thermocouple sensor – measures temperatures in harsh environments – new J and K type adapters – works with AKCP securityProbe 5E & E-sensor8 expansion module

Bangkok, Thailand – February 25, 2010 – AKCP Inc., announces the launch of the new thermocouple sensor and matching adapters. There are two versions available that are both designed to measure temperatures in dangerous or extremely hazardous situations. Extremely toxic chemicals or hot metals need to be processed within strict temperature ranges and that’s where the AKCP thermocouple sensor comes into its own. Available in a variety of sizes and with different properties and connectors AKCP has developed thermocouple sensors that connect straight into your AKCP base unit.

Retractable cable with superior memory

Expands to 1.5m (5’)

Subminiature Connector for Use with Handheld Thermometers

300, 450 and 600 mm (12’, 18 and 24’) Lengths Standard – Custom Lengths Available

Companion RTD Probe, Type PR-16

304, 310, 316, 321 SS, Inconel N and Super XL Sheaths

The thermocouple sensors are designed to work with the securityProbe and securityProbe 5E and E-sensor8 expansion modules via the AKCP adapters to give a measurement rate of one reading every second. The new sensor now accepts all standard size male connectors for thermocouple types J and K

New J & K type thermocouple adapters
There are two common types of thermocouple wire, Type J and Type K and AKCP have created two adapters to enable you to connect directly to your AKCP unit

Type J (Iron/Constantan™) Type J thermocouples are used in vacuum, oxidizing, inert or reducing atmospheres. Iron element oxidizes rapidly at temperatures exceeding 1000°F (538°C), and therefore heavier gauge wire is recommended

Type K (Chromel™/Alumel™) Type K thermocouples are used in oxidizing, inert or dry reducing atmospheres. Exposure to vacuum is limited to short time periods. Must be protected from sulfurous and marginally oxidizing atmospheres.

Each adapter comes with a 5 foot CAT5 cable and you can use a customized cable of up to 100 feet. There is also an RJ-45 connection for easy and simple installation.

Full autosense including disconnect alarm

Power source: powered by the sensorProbe. No additional power needed.

Power Consumption: Typical 7.80 mWatt, 1.56mA

They are “simple”, rugged, need no batteries

Can measure over very wide temperature ranges and more

The thermocouple sensor and adapters are easy to set up and install and the sensor is competitively priced at just $150. The new J & K type adapters are priced at just $125 each. These sensors and adapters can be ordered directly from AKCP or from any one of our many dealers located around the world. Visit www.akcp.com for more information on this and related products.

8 configurable dry contacts – new compact rugged design – works with AKCP securityProbe 5E

Bangkok, Thailand – January 14, 2010 – AKCP Inc., announces the launch of the new compact IO-digital8 intelligent sensor with the main housing being redesigned into a more robust unit. There are now two versions, one with a single RJ45 connector at one end and 8 x 2 pin dry contact connectors along the side (replacing the old unit that came with 8 x 1 meter long dry contact cables and 8 pig tail dry contacts). And, a second unit that uses 2 x RJ45 connectors instead of the 8 x 2 pin dry contact connectors, each compatible with 4 dry contact connections.

These units can be mounted on a wall, and then a standard CAT5 cable can be run back to the intelligent sensor port on the AKCP securityProbe 5E. The 8 dry contacts can be configured as inputs, or outputs and the IO-digital8 is user definable so can be used to detect many different inputs such as UPS status, security systems, alarm panels or air conditioning status.

8 dry contacts on one Intelligent Sensor.

SNMP interface for alarm/normal status.

SNMP traps sent when critical.

SNMP polling via get command

Each of the 8 dry contacts on the IO-digital8 sensor can also be configured as outputs up to 20mA.

When an alarm condition is activated the description and location of the fault can be sent via email, SMS, MMS, Skype, phone calls and other advanced notifications from the AKCP securityProbe 5E’s web interface.

The IO-digital8 is easy to set up and install and now with its new design will fit neatly into a rack space or cabinet. The IO-digital8 is competitively priced at just $65. The new IO-digital8 can be ordered directly from AKCP or from any one of our many dealers located around the world.

Bangkok, Thailand – 12 September 2008. AKCP Inc., has released a new innovative feature for it’s embedded Linux securityProbe bridging the gap between SCADA’s physical and logical formats and SNMP.

The securityProbe adds a Modbus to SNMP gateway which can be easily integrated in any SCADA system. Using the recently introduced virtual sensor port feature, the securityProbe supports Modbus RTU, Modbus over TCP/IP. Any virtual sensor can be combined with AKCP’s wide choice of notifications like: SNMP traps, e-mail, SMS, MMS, windows alerts, voice calls, Skype calls, etc. In addition the securityProbe can control relays based on collected sensor values from a large number of physical sensors or up to 60 dry contacts. All Modbus configuration can be done through the easy to use embedded web interface of the securityProbe.

With this new feature AKCP has created a unique SCADA management system independent of the bus protocol used. This enables distributed control engineers to easily link up industrial network devices with existing LAN infrastructure and SNMP alerts.

The Modbus to SNMP gateway expands on the wide range of Modbus features such as the securityProbe’s ability to act as a RS485 master device polling one or more slave devices or as a slave allowing other Modbus devices to read sensor data.

Additional fieldbus protocol support for Profibus, LonWorks, etc. are available on request with very short implementation times, using AKCP custom engineering services

Bangkok, Thailand – 2 April 2008. AKCP Inc., the oldest and largest manufacturer of SNMP-based devices for environmental and security monitoring solutions has added an 8 Port Sensor Relay to its product line. The 8 Port Sensor Relay is specially designed for advanced process control. It has 8 multi-purpose relays that are easily controlled by any of AKCP’s extensive selection of sensors. The relays can be programmed to provide automatic responses to sensor status changes. Typical applications are advanced process control such as On/Off switching of appliances, activating alarms or any other situation which requires switching of power depending on a sensors status.

Setting up the sensor controlled relay is easy. As with all AKCP intelligent sensors the parent unit will auto sense and configure the web interface accordingly. In addition the relays can also be controlled directly via any computer or Network Management System on the same network using the included SNMP command line utilities either interactively or programmatically.

The ability to program automatic responses to sensor changes gives users more flexibility in reacting to the environmental alerts. It eliminates the need for user intervention during the alarm condition thus preventing substantial damages by enabling the ability to switch on/off crucial equipment, exhaust fans, or external alarm condition lights.

The rack mountable 1u unit is designed specifically for use with securityProbe product line. Up to 8 of these units can be connected to a single securityProbe, allowing for a maximum of 64 relays. The price of the 8 Port Sensor relay is $600 and is available immediately.
