Adding IP Camera & RTSP Streams to Quicklime™
Visual Intelligence for Your Data Center Quicklime™ goes beyond data points by integrating live visual confirmation. By adding IP cameras via RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol), you can correlate environmental alerts with real-time video footage, allowing for instant remote verification of facility events.
How to Add an RTSP Stream:
Access Map Settings: Open the Quicklime map editor and select the location where you wish to place the camera.
Configure Camera Parameters: Enter the camera name and the RTSP URL provided by your camera manufacturer.
Example format:
rtsp://username:password@ip_address:port/path
Position and Preview: Drag the camera icon to its physical location on your 2D or 3D map. Once saved, click the icon to launch the live video overlay.
Why Integrate Video with Quicklime?
Event Verification: When a rack door sensor triggers an alert or a thermal hotspot is detected, instantly view the live feed to check for unauthorized access or physical obstructions.
Centralized Command: Eliminate the need to toggle between separate VMS (Video Management System) software and your DCIM.
3D Spatial Context: Seeing the camera feed within the 3D map context helps operators understand the exact field of view and surrounding infrastructure.
