Monitoring Base Transciever Stations ensures the mobile network infrastructure is functioning. Many towers operate on service level agreements (SLA) and meeting this requires almost 100% uptime with heavy penalties for any downtime. Implementing an effective remote monitoring system for the critical infrastructure is essential.
Monitoring Base Transciever Stations
Mobile network operators and carriers operate the nationwide infrastructure of Telecom Towers. Known as Base Station Transceiver Stations (BTS) they form the major component of the GSM cellular network. They transmit and receive radio signals coming to and from mobile phones. Electronic communications equipment that is connected to the antennas are located in shelters at the base of the towers. AKCP sensors are used to monitor environmental conditions in the shelters, as well as an interface to third-party equipment for remote monitoring.
Due to many BTS sites being in remote locations, security and power can be issues that are of major concern. Protecting the site from thieves and vandalism, as well as ensuring 100% uptime requires a robust approach to monitoring security, controlling site access, and maintaining power.

What it monitors
Read the available controller registers or alarm contacts.
How it helps your team
Check generator readiness, review engine data and schedule service from operating hours.

Give your camera a rule.
Bring visual context to sensor alarms. Try a prompt in your own words, then simulate a rule match to see how the alert can identify the site, camera and condition.

Enhancing Base Transceiver Site Monitoring with AKCP Solutions
Ensuring the continuous operation of Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) is paramount. These stations are critical for maintaining mobile network coverage, and any downtime can lead to significant service disruptions and financial penalties. AKCP offers monitoring solutions focusing on environmental conditions, power management, and security.
Environmental Monitoring
BTS shelters house sensitive electronic equipment that must operate within specific temperature and humidity ranges. AKCP’s temperature and humidity sensors provide real-time data, enabling operators to detect and address HVAC system failures promptly. Maintaining optimal environmental conditions not only ensures equipment longevity but also prevents unexpected outages due to overheating or moisture-related issues.
Power Management
Reliable power supply is crucial for uninterrupted BTS operations. AKCP’s power monitoring solutions allow for continuous oversight of power inputs and backup systems. By monitoring these parameters, operators can proactively address potential issues, ensuring that backup systems are ready when needed. This reduces the risk of service interruptions.
Security Surveillance
Given the often remote locations of BTS sites, they are susceptible to unauthorized access and vandalism. AKCP provides a range of security sensors, such as motion detectors, door contact sensors, and vibration sensors, to monitor and secure these facilities. Surveillance cameras integrated Integration with alarm systems ensures that security breaches are detected and addressed promptly, safeguarding both equipment and infrastructure.
BTS Site Monitoring with AKCPro Server
AKCP’s AKCPro Server offers a centralized platform for monitoring multiple BTS sites. Operators can access real-time data, receive alerts, and generate reports from a single interface. This centralized approach streamlines operations, enhances response times to potential issues, and provides comprehensive oversight of the entire network of BTS sites.
Real-World Applications
AKCP’s solutions have been successfully implemented in various regions, providing reliable monitoring for BTS sites. For instance, in Libya, AKCP’s monitoring systems have been deployed across numerous remote BTS locations, enabling centralized oversight and improved operational efficiency. These real-world applications underscore the effectiveness and adaptability of AKCP’s monitoring solutions in diverse environments.
Quicklime Server – Central Monitoring Software
Quicklime Server central monitoring software displays data collected from all temperature and humidity sensors installed at Base Transceiver Station Sites. If you have multiple locations monitor all sites from one interface.
