AKCP Launches IPSet Mobile App for Fast sensorProbe+ Network Configuration

New iOS and Android application simplifies device discovery, IP configuration and access to the sensorProbe+ web interface

September 1, 2026 — AKCP, the world’s oldest and largest manufacturer of networked environmental, power and security monitoring solutions, has released AKCP IPSet, a new mobile application for iOS and Android that makes it faster and easier to discover and configure sensorProbe+ devices on a local network.

AKCP IPSet allows installers, system integrators and IT personnel to locate compatible AKCP sensorProbe+ devices directly from a smartphone or tablet. Once a device has been discovered, the app displays essential identification and network information, including its model, MAC address, current IPv4 address and firmware version.

Users can then configure the device’s network settings without needing a laptop, serial connection or prior knowledge of its existing IP address. The app can assign or change a static IP address, netmask, gateway and primary DNS server, as well as enable or disable DHCP.

After configuration, the sensorProbe+ web interface can be opened directly from within the app, allowing the user to continue with sensor configuration, monitoring and other device-management tasks.

“Commissioning a sensorProbe+ should be quick and straightforward, even when the device’s existing IP address is unknown,” said Nicholas Barrowclough, President of AKCP. “IPSet gives installers a simple mobile tool for finding a device, configuring its network connection and opening its web interface—all from the same application.”

The streamlined workflow is especially useful during new installations, network migrations, device replacements and troubleshooting visits. It reduces the need for additional equipment and eliminates many of the manual steps traditionally involved in placing a monitoring gateway onto a network.

To use AKCP IPSet, the mobile device and sensorProbe+ gateway must be connected to the same local network. The application provides on-screen guidance to assist users with device discovery and network configuration.

AKCP IPSet is available for compatible iPhone and iPad devices through the Apple App Store and for Android devices through Google Play.
