AKCP Adds Microsoft Azure Cloud Compatibility to sensorProbe+ products via MQTTS

AKCP, the world’s oldest and largest supplier of networked wired and wireless sensor solutions have improved their compatibility with third party cloud platforms, with MQTTS integration to Microsoft Azure

Azure is a cloud computing platform from Microsoft. It offers a wide variety of services which can be deployed to run and manage applications on their cloud service. Azure is one of the main competitors for Amazon Web Services, which offers similar services. These include

• Virtual Machines
• Storage

Azure has some specific features such as Azure active directory, which is a cloud based version of Microsoft Active Directory. This allows you to manage users and groups access to the cloud applications you may be running.

AKCP sensors are used by large corporations worldwide to monitor their critical infrastructure. From data centers, to remote sites, telecom towers, warehouses and cold chain. A recent project conducted with Lufthansa Technik required AKCP cellular sensorProbe2+ sensors be integrated to the Microsoft Azure platform.

The AKCP SP2+ with cellular modem and external antenna is compatible with all AKCP sensors and delivers data to the cloud via cellular radio. As part of the sensorProbe+ product family it runs the same software as the SP1+, SP2+LCD, SPX+ and sensorProbeWTS. Integration to Microsoft Azure was accomplished through MQTTS communication from the AKCP device to the cloud platform.

AKCP engineers worked closely with the team at Lufthansa Technik to complete the necessary software development required. At no charge, AKCP implemented new software functions and technical support to make the project a success.

On behalf of Lufthansa Technik, I would like to thank everyone very much for the support! We are happy with the solution provided and our data is now arriving in the Azure IoT Hub. Our next steps will be to do some tests with our departments.
