This insulation will help with sound, but more importantly preventing heat losses through the walls to the outside. In order to have an efficient a data center as possible, it is vital that the cold air contained in the data center is preserved. That way the cooling energy can be passed onto the servers rather than being lost to the surrounding air temperatures.
