AKCPro Server Asset Management

AKCP has released V16.2.84 of their popular DCIM software platform AKCPro Server. The update includes enhanced functions for virtual sensors, graphs, asset tracking and reports.

AKCPro Server is closely integrated with AKCP sensors providing detailed monitoring of your data center operation and efficiency. The inclusion of Computational Fluid Dynamics tools such as sensorCFD™, enables you to create a CFD model of your data center using live sensor data as the input. This makes it valuable not only for monitoring but analysis of where your data center can be improved. The improvements can save you energy by identifying over cooled areas, stranded capacity and zones of mixing air.

New features include:
Support for SNMPV3 virtual sensors
New virtual sensor for performing multiplication of sensor values
Support for individual graphing intervals per sensor
Inclusion of graph data in sensor reports
Asset Selection feature in rack maps

Virtual Sensors
Virtual sensors in AKCPro Server are a powerful tool to monitor third party devices via SNMP and Modbus TCP/IP. They are also used to perform calculations on sensor values, such as dew Point calculations based on temperature and humidity sensor values and Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) from power meter readings. In addition, logical virtual sensors based on multiple inputs to create a single sensor status can be configured.

Graphing of sensors now includes individual graphing intervals

Graphing Functions
AKCPro Server functions as a DCIM and central monitoring platform for all deployed AKCP sensors and third party devices via virtual sensors. Sensor data is graphed, and now in V16.2.84 different graphing intervals can be set per sensor. For example, if you have one sensor that needs to be graphed every minute, but another only once a day this is now possible. AKCPro Server generates reports on a user defined time interval that are automatically emailed to relevant users. The latest update now includes graphing data as part of the reports.

Asset Management
As a DCIM software, AKCPro Server includes visualization in both 2D and 3D from building, down to rack level. Asset management tools are included to identify and locate equipment installed in each rack. Details on each asset are stored such as a maintenance log, date of installation, user manuals etc. In V16.2.84 assets can now be selected in the 3D view, with a popup of the specific details for that asset.
