Today the sheet rock for the stud walling was delivered, and insulation was starting to be installed. It is important that we make sure the data center is well insulated to minimize cooling losses through the walls. As the data center is hot aisle containment, the room will be cold. The ambient air temperature outside the room will be 30°C. A double layer of insulation on the walls will ensure that we keep the hot air out and cold air inside the data center room.
Around the generator enclosure we will have thicker fiber glass insulation between the stud panels. This will minimize noise from the generator and also serve to keep the heat from the electrical room out of the data center.
