AKCP has announced V16 of the AKCPro Server DCIM software solution. V16 includes updates to the asset management features, including 3D visualization of your rack assets.
AKCPro Server is a best in class DCIM software solution from AKCP. Aimed at small to medium sized data centers and server rooms that need a low simple, cost DCIM software, without the usual complexity and costs associated with such a solution.
V16 has been released, and includes updates to the asset management features of the software. Asset management is an essential part of any DCIM application, tracking equipment installed in computer racks. AKCPro Server asset management functions include:
- Asset location
- Maintenance logs
- Export of asset inventory as CSV file
- Commissioning date
- Storing and attachment of user manuals and other documentation related to the asset
- Connection with SNMP virtual sensors for asset monitoring
AKCPro Server 2D representation of assets installed in IT rack
The latest update adds 3D and 2D visualization of the assets in your rack. When viewing a rack map, or the 3D data center model, users can see which racks have vacant space for additional equipment to be installed, as well as the type of equipment already present.

Users can select from a default image of the asset or upload their own images to be used as the representation of the equipment mounted in the rack.
Combining AKCPro Server asset visualization and management functions with AKCP sensor monitoring, you can create a digital twin of your racks and data center environment. Contactless Current Meters for example are a non-invasive way of monitoring current loads to a rack. This is useful when identifying vacant rack space to check if there is sufficient power overhead to add new equipment. Cabinet Thermal Map Sensors will detect hot spots in your rack, as well as cold spots. Identifying cold spots means you can safely increase temperatures in the rack, saving you cooling energy costs.
